How much is the VYPE Franchise Fee and what does it include?
VYPE Franchise Fees vary by the size of the territory, but start at $30,000 for small markets. It includes:
- Rights to the nationally recognized VYPE brand
- Rights to publish our nationally recognized VYPE customized to your market in your exclusive territory
- The proven VYPE marketing and operating system
- A customized VYPE marketing start-up kit
- Customized VYPE promotional items
- Distribution Racks
- A customized VYPE website
- VYPE training and support throughout the launch period and beyond!

What is the initial investment needed to operate a VYPE Franchise?
The size of investment will vary on the market and individual franchisee. Larger markets with substantial population and/or geographic area will require a more comprehensive distribution program which requires a larger initial investment. Franchisees in this situation may require a higher page rate in their marketplace. The average investment with three months of working capital ranges from $152,000 to over $337,000. VYPE prefers prospective franchisees to have a net worth of at least $300,000 and a liquid capital of at least $150,000.
What type of training does VYPE provide?
VYPE provides each Franchisee team member extensive "Pre-Game" training including the following: A full week of classroom training at our corporate office in Tulsa Oklahoma covering these topics:
- Introduction to the sports marketing industry
- Working with sports media professionals
- Marketing your business
- Learning the sales presentation
- Distributing your magazine
Setting up your office Your Team Manager and Start-Up Specialist will then join you in your exclusive territory to accomplish the following:
- Research and understand your market
- Analyze your distribution locations
- Fine-tune your sales presentation
- Make initial sales calls
Network with prospects in the community In addition, to help you get started we:
- Assist you in building a minimum of your first three issues
- Provide production training in a classroom setting
How much support does an VYPE Franchisee receive?
VYPE Franchise team members receive ongoing coaching and support to assist in the success of their publishing franchise. VYPE continues to provide each Franchise the following:
- Ongoing market support with their dedicated VYPE market representative
- As needed support to assist in the production of their publication
- Ongoing website support
- Regional VYPE meetings and annual business conference for networking
How much is the VYPE royalty?
The royalty is $40.00 per page to be printed in Your Magazine for the first calendar year's issues. The royalty for all subsequent issues will be the greater of $40.00 per page printed or 6% of gross revenues generated from the Basic and Optional Services.
How long does it take to publish my first VYPE magazine?
It typically takes 90-120 days from the signing of the franchise documents until your first publication is ready for distribution.
How do I distribute my VYPE publication?
Distribution racks in high traffic locations in your territory is a very effective method to put your publication in the hands of eager fans. Examples of high traffic distribution locations are national or regional gas stations, grocery stores, doctor's offices, restaurants, and high schools. VYPE also recommends using a distribution partner to rent rack space at various other targeted locations including those listed above. Each market has similar but unique distribution opportunities. VYPE has a great relationship with national distribution vendors, and VYPE will assist each franchisee in putting together a game-winning distribution plan.
Can I operate a VYPE franchise part-time?
Operating a successful franchise requires your full-time energy. VYPE highly recommends at least one team member dedicated to full-time advertising sales for your territory. In the start-up phase you will also need a team member dedicated to the production of your magazine. The publishing business is sales-driven and as such, VYPE will only award franchises to publishers who demonstrate a full-time commitment to their sales efforts.
